Andrea’s first time woodworking! What made her finally get in the shop? A Carolina Wren :) She loves bird feeding and bird watching. Last year when we moved in to our new home, we had a Carolina Wren hanging out in our backyard. It’s the first time Andrea has seen one and heard its beautiful song. It left for the Winter, and now it’s back. So Andrea wanted to make it a home (hopefully it moves in). A quick Google search for some plans and a look through my lumber stock, and we were ready to go. She did great and we had fun!

With her “ah, that’s good enough” approach to measuring and making cuts, I don’t see fine furniture making in her future. But I definitely hope to get her in the shop for some more fun beginner projects.
