A long time coming. So excited to work with my buddy, Evan. Watch as we make two East Meets West hand planes from my Projects from The Minimalist Woodworker Book.
Hague Haswell and Vic Tesolin of Melbourne Tool Company join Ben to discuss what it's like to start a hand tool company from scratch.
To maximize space in my new smaller shop, I had the opportunity to try out the Axminster UJK Multifunction Workbench Frame* with the HDF Valchromat Top*. The frame and top were delivered from the UK and I built the base from Ash. Overall the bench is extremely sturdy and has a ton of work holding options available. I wanted to build this bench to see if I enjoyed using it as my EDB (Every Day Bench). I've been using it to hand plane, cut joinery and other hand tool tasks, and so far it has worked well. I haven't used a vise on a bench for many years and I won't be needing one for this bench either. So far, I'm diggin' it. I'll continue with more in-depth reviews once I've logged more hours on it.

While our tools will take shavings right out of the box, MTC North American Ambassador @VicTesolinWoodworks likes to do a few things to get them really working to their full potential. So if you recently got a new Melbourne Tool Company Bench Plane or are curious about what Vic likes to do when he gets a new MTC plane, then watch and learn!
